Shanghai - Ready to Ride

Shanghai, Saturday 21 Sep...

Tomorrow the ride begins....

Put the bikes back together in the hotel room...

There is actually enough space in the hotel room
for us to sleep.



The first 'rider meeting'...

an interpreter from Bike China, and Doug, the bike mechanic.

That blue flag in the middle is the thing we will want to see tomorrow afternoon

One final tour of interesting parts of Shanghai, ably led by Olivier, including reminders of the comforts that may not be present on the road...







I don't know about the delicious part of this, but if we can find these
places at appropriate junctures en route, then we will certainly be happy.

Dinner with Olivier and Emilie and with Jacques and Myriam who came early to China to make sure that we really got on our bikes tomorrow morning...

 

And finally, the 'whiteboard'... the instructions for tomorrow's ride... breakfast at 0500, then a bit of jostling with Shanghai traffic...
