Suzhou

Suzhou is a smaller city about 80 km northwest of Shanghai... small being by Chinese standards... around 5 million people. In the past, it was larger than Shanghai and was one of the silk centres of China.
Modern shopping streets - open all night
One of several pagodas in Suzhou or its vicinity
China has gone non-polluting - these are now mostly electrically powered. Nobody uses a helmet. They carry mothers, kids, and the groceries with ease
...oh yes, they drive everywhere, they're silent so you don't here them so they honk horns like crazy especially in the pedestrian zones.
There are still lots of bikes and trikes. The trikes often carrying large loads - I missed the one carrying the full-size refrigerator.
