9 Oct - to Huiyang

Out of Heyuan this morning on new highway - not tree-lined yet, but here they are unloading 12-foot tall trees to plant every few metres beside the road.
Then back onto country roads, through some banana-growing fields, and past a few irrigation aquaducts.
We saw a bit more livestock today than previously...
...and throughout the trip so far, we've seen a lot of large butterflies... this one at the lunch stop stayed still just long enough for Ursula to get a photo.
After lunch. we had the mandatory construction with terrible road, big rocks, bigger holes, lots of dust, single lane weaving around the obstacles, and us competing with smoke-belching little diesel trucks that were barely moving as they tried to avoid the worst holes and bumps. Mercifully it only lasted 3 or 4 km - this photo was taken at the end and really doesn't capture how bad parts of it were.
Then the sign at the hotel... we can only assume that the dress code is being rewritten after they were invaded by 50 of us, sweaty and covered with all that dust.
Half a block away was Walmart where we picked up a few supplies including a bottle of Great Wall wine, all of which this group of school girls found extremely amusing... as we've said before, foreigners are a rarity in many of these areas.
